Speaking topics:
Adoption, infertility, mental health (i.e., anxiety, depression, addictions, sexuality, trauma, etc.), care for Christian leaders, sex offender care in the church, conflicts, counseling skills, and more. Check out my ”Slides…” page for examples of both academic and practical presentations.
Consultations:
I provide churches and parachurch organizations with short-term clinical consultations dealing with the care of leaders and parishioners. Recent consultations include helping churches respond to abuse by leaders and laity; developing both preventive and responsive care plans for individuals or ministry groups seeking to address stressors or problems in their lives. Consultations are not an equal substitute for those needing on-going local care.
Counseling Services:
I provide limited face-to-face counseling services as an associate at Diane Langberg, PhD & Associates, Jenkintown, PA. At the present time I have a waiting list. However, our practice consists of 16 other well-qualified male and female Christian counselors (masters and doctoral level). If in the course of these services I believe you or someone else is in imminent risk of harm from self or other (e.g., child or elder abuse, suicidality or homicidality) I will takes steps to ensure safety by possibly warning those at risk, notifying the authorities who can provide needed safety or other possible interventions.
2. I negotiate fees prior to providing the above services.
